Producer, DJ and communicator, DarkSunn - the alter-ego of almadense Bruno Dias (b. 1981) - has made music in general, and hip-hop and electronica in particular, his creative home for two decades. As a producer and key piece of Almada's alternative culture, he released several works, including 2 albums, 5 EPs, a handful of singles and remixes and participations in more than a dozen compilations, almost all of them devised and edited by the artistic collective, label and distribution company he co-founded 14 years ago - Monster Jinx. One of the most successful collectives in activity, Monster Jinx rises from the junction of distinctive musical and creative personalities from the Greater Lisbon and Porto areas, spreading their tentacles all over Portugal, in the intersection between visual arts, production, DJing and rap, spreading the word to more than 15 artists.
They edit their own works, produces their own parties and idealizes and markets their own physical formats, merchandise and clothing, if the motto of the collective was not an extension of that of the musician himself - independent or nothing.
As a DJ in activity since 2010, he guarantees a place on the podium of the most hours spent behind the decks in the national night, selling out dance floors such as Musicbox Lisboa, Lux or Maus Hábitos, where he performed on dozens of occasions, or going on stage at NOS Alive and Super Bock em Stock, always with hip-hop, the old and the new, jazz, beatscene and many years of musical maturation and hours of research in flight cases.
From the decks and MPCs to the microphone, he has created, produced and presents "Tape Delay", a new podcast format where the conversation revolves around the "beats" and the listening, the deconstruction and the interview are highlighted. In 2 seasons and more than 20 episodes, "Tape Delay" has hosted names like Sam The Kid, Nelassassin, MARIA, Madkutz or Bambino, among many other established and up-and-coming producers. Percussor of "Tape Delay", he created in 2013 the item "DarkSunnDays" - which he maintaind for Antena 3's Rimas e Batidas - where he explored the novelties of national and international hip-hop, electronica and its tentacles, in monthly live sets.
Creative dynamo and tireless figure in Lisbon's musical culture, he participated and continues to be present in talks and debates around the arts and the music industry, in several festivals and meetings. He lives in Almada among plants and perfect loops, with his wife, two cats and many records.
